The air-conditioned room was cozy, equipped with a comfy wardrobe, coffee machine, and even a flat-screen TV. Having a private bathroom was fantastic, making everything feel more personal. It made the stay much more enjoyable and convenient, especially for a wanderer who likes a little comfort after exploring all day.
The kitchen utensils were a bit worn out—didn't feel hygienic, but some may not mind.

My recent stay at this hotel was nothing short of amazing. the staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating, making me feel right at home from the moment I arrived. the shared kitchen and fridge were a great addition, allowing me to prepare my meals and store snacks. the clean bathrooms with ample water supply were a definite plus. the central location of the hotel made it super convenient to explore nearby attractions such as Thanthania Kalibari and College Street Coffee House.
While my overall experience was positive, there were a couple of aspects that could be improved. I believe the hotel could benefit from having a brochure with information on how to get to popular Kolkata landmarks and the airport using public transportation options in addition to taxis.

It was the best I've come across - incredibly clean and spacious with a shared kitchen, free breakfast, washing machine, and other convenient amenities. The staff were friendly, though check-in was slightly delayed. The location is superb, staff cooperative, and facilities well-maintained. Some room for improvement with cupboard space and breakfast options, but overall a wonderful experience.

I had a great stay at this hostel. The staff was very friendly and helpful, especially Aman who guided me to the property when there were no cabs available. The hostel had a spacious kitchen area and the bathrooms were regularly cleaned with hot water available. The dormitory was also cleaned and there were plenty of sockets for charging. The rooftop was a nice place to relax and enjoy the beautiful sunset. The location of the hostel was excellent, with easy access to public transportation such as the Metro, Railway, and buses. I felt welcome and had a comfortable stay.
Nothing all excellent.

I recently stayed at City Central in Kolkata for a week and it was perfect! The rooms were clean and all the electric items were in fully working condition, which is a rare find in India. The shared kitchen was a great bonus, equipped with a big communal fridge and all the necessary kitchen equipment. The staff provided a simple breakfast every morning, and there were extra wash basins and chai preparation equipment available. The hotel even had a washing machine and dryer for laundry, which was a convenient and affordable option. The location was also fantastic, with easy access to public transportation and walking distance to many attractions. this was the best accommodation I have ever had in India, even on a lower budget level.
Totally recommend this hotel.

Cleanliness, courtesy of staff, and good WIFI speed. the bed linen and room were clean, and the breakfast included a banana, bread, and butter/jam. the location was also convenient, with key attractions nearby.
The bed allocation process was a mess, with my bed being reassigned to another guest. the management also initially provided a room without an attached bathroom, which was not as advertised.

Located in a convenient area, this budget hostel offers lockers for storage and a spacious kitchen. Guests can enjoy the comfort of hot water in the bathrooms and regular cleaning of the dormitory. The helpful staff provide guidance, especially during late arrivals, and there is always drinking water available.
Some staff members have language barriers, making communication difficult.

I felt like a gourmet chef in their shared kitchen with all their fancy gadgets and equipment. Even the rooms were clean and functioning properly. Can you believe it? In India!
I didn't like staring at the unshaved face of the hotel manager in the morning. It was such a disappointment!

During our stay, we were impressed by the rooftop space at City Central. It provided a great view and a relaxing atmosphere to unwind after a day of exploring. The wifi was reliable and fast, allowing us to stay connected and plan our activities. The cleanliness of the hostel was remarkable, and we appreciated the effort the staff put into maintaining a tidy environment. The meeting space was also a bonus, as it allowed us to work on some projects while enjoying the laid-back vibe of the hostel. Additionally, the English-speaking staff were incredibly helpful and went the extra mile to assist us with getting an Indian SIM card. We felt like we were among friends at City Central, and the absence of mosquitoes was a definite plus.
The only minor inconvenience we encountered was the lack of a key for the room, which made us slightly uneasy about our belongings while we slept. However, the overall experience at City Central overshadowed this small drawback.
